Like many other things on this site, what you see here is only the beginning. It's getting late, I'm tired, and somehow I really don't think anyone will feel cheated with what's here now. I will soon ad links and words that will caption every one of these images. MASSIVE thanks go out to Rich Carlson (ph 425-259-4222) for supplying them (and about 50 more that I'll scan tomorrow). From the Calgary National Open, NW Nats, Edmonton Wed. Nite wildness, and more from the Nigthtfire Nats, including the West Coast Pro Mod show!

9.4.98 8:00pm At the Mac, and get this...teaching Carlson how to scan. The guy pisses me off right away, as on about the second one, he takes over the brightness/contrast dialoge box in PS5 and proceeds to do what he does in a real darkroom...quick and perfect.

We begin with Rich Carlson's first ever scan...and ya, they big. (Optimized for full screen, full quality in a small file for all you 1024x768 people) Just remember once I get Rich online fulltime that he does this for a living and would greatly appreciate any business you could give him..and ALWAYS remember, and remember well - The stuff I post of Rich's is from the boxes of stuff that never sold. All the good stuff sold.

...so, does this maybe do it for you:

"It was the first time I ever saw a Mob car with all new parts...ALL of 'em" -Rich Carlson Firebird Raceway, Boise Idaho, August 8, 1998

Mike Sullivan's new Fiat. I LIKE it!. Here against Fassell's roadster.

The final

Fiats...a pair. no shit.

And now a moment I have long awaited. the unveiling of the finest photos available from the most famous race ever, in the history of Mission Raceway. From the archives of Murray Chambers comes the Winged Express and Sush Matsubara in Joe's Hilborn-huffed Fiat. Maybe one day I'll yard out that interview I did with Mondello when he was at Ashcroft in 1997 with the Welfringers and fire up the RealAudio encoder.

I will soon have access to the original story and results of this memorable meeting of FAs. (There were two more here as well. Who can name them?..cars and drivers...it was way cooler when the cars had names!) Thanks to Doug Harder of the BC Custom Car Assc. and really special thanks to Murray for giving us access to these pics, they are very rare.
