Joe Goes BOOM!

The Joe Delehay local legend continues...

It is one of the scariest drag racing photo sequences ever filmed. Billions and billions of pieces shred the air without a single person being hit by a single one. Two nitrous lines reversed in what crew chief Kenny Eisler says was one of those "7am misses".

He went on to tell HH that the radical new system had pounds upon pounds of nitrous through it without a single mishap during extensive testing since August. They even turned the heat in the garage waaaay up Thursday night just so baby could stay warm until morning. When they went to place the hood on one solenoid was sitting too high and would have to be turned around. "Just the the ones' on the other side".

So it was flipped over and the supply line was switched with the purge line. A minor error from a cosmetic standpoint, but a deadly one when you instantly realize whats going on here. Instead of getting any traces of the fuel and gas mixture out of the intake manifold one side of one port would be doing just the opposite.

The burnout went fine, then it lost fire as he was staging. Ken reached inside to push it back. Then Joe tried to restart. A Cannonading millisecond later a few dozen people were watching bits of aluminum, carbon fibre and lexan coming out of the truck like pissed off wasps from a kicked hive.

There was a brief flash of fire just as it blew, probably a second before Rich Carlson held down the motor drive on his Nikon. What you see in the first two images is less than half a second apart. It is such a treat for him to allow us first use of these shots. There are a bunch more in the sequence of eight, so if you want a smokin' deal on a set give him a call at 425-259-4222.

Then...below this amazing art he gives us THE wheelstand of the year at MRP (yes it was as high, but went farther than the red Nova of a cpl of weeks ago) And besides, he did it not once, but twice! Friday AND Saturday! These are from Saturday and clearly show the amazing ride of Ken T in his gorgeous BB Chevrolet. The video is on it's way....heheheheheh.

THANKS RICH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then again, if you think this is violent, check THIS out.

Believe-it-or-not, it may be ready for Seattle in two weeks....
