Friday 1 2 3 4 Saturday 1 2 3 4 5 6 Sunday 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 FOR VIDEOS PLEASE help us save bandwidth by right clicking, Save Target As, and load to your computer to play and distribute as often as you wish. Yes you may repost this anywhere unless you attempt to remove our logo. Do that an I'll have to kill ya. PLEASE NOTE: We are actually a video operation but still enjoy shooting a few still photos. We shoot with a low end 2mp digital camera, so please don't expect professional results. You'll first notice a lot of burnout pics. One, we like burnout pics, and two, we usually video the run so often the only chance we have of shooting a certain car is on the burnout. Yes, you'll see lots of some cars, none of others. There's no reason other than if you have a cool car and don't see yourself here we probably felt it was better to video you, or ya, we always miss some of you completely. We can only do so much eh. And when a crew guy stands out there in front of your car (and us)...well we can't shoot thru them. We only have Sunday's sheets to work from as we neglected to pick up our Friday copies, hence the lack of info. Captions are taken often taken from result sheets which themselves can sometimes be incorrect, or we just copy it down wrong. If you see a blatant error please let us know and it will be corrected ASAP. -Larry Pfister, Webmaster/Photographer Samuel ROCKS west coast! Reflecting back on the past few days we once again marvel at the hospitality of the PSCA and LVMS people while trying our damnedest not to get jaded by hanging out at America's greatest drag strip yet again. Cruising through the pits on our complimentary LVMS golf cart we were constantly greeted by happy, smiling faces, and offers of "anything you need". In other words, it's like being at our local northwest tracks where the racers have for decades supported us in any way they could. To have this happen so far from home, at a place we only go to a few times a year proves these are great people to be around. The fact they have some fantastic race cars (and trucks) and work such an outstanding facility shows they all have the maturity to not let it all go to their heads. Something that is so prevalent at those 'big' drag races. One day into the three day race had us thinking that whoever said Canadians are the polite people has never been to one of these things. We simply can't say enough about the super folks HH got to hang with this weekend, and it's realizations like this that make us want to come back as often as possible. As for the racing, there were a few oil downs, but no serious on-track incidents. All three days finished on or just ahead of schedule and the racing itself was close and clean, with the street legal racer credo of "never lift" in fine form. Because we didn't get a full set of sheets much of what we will report is from memory, so please bear with us. As for the northwest contingent, Jeremy Devies from Marysville had his Firebird running great, blasting into the 6.7 zone at least once, but in round two Sunday had a scare when breakage in the lights saw him spinning the back Trans Am around near the end of the shut down area. Didn't get a chance to speak with him to see what exactly happened, but he did not contact the wall. Dal Sangha smoked a turbo after one test pass Thursday but found a replacement and ran a 7.38/192 single in round one Sunday, 7.14/203 in a round two win over a fouling Randy Walker then hurt something beside Chuck Samuel in the semis. A good showing for the low buck Canuck team. Jay Syversten also struggled to put all that Scalpi horsepower to the ground but managed a semi final finish in both races. He was in the high sixes over 200 on numerous occasions. Rod Pickett ran well in Outlaw, but again our lack of official printed info keeps any good numbers a lost memory. Derek Przeginiak brought his repaired Mustang back down from Calgary Alberta to compete in X-Treeme but had problems with starting line boost most of the weekend. He qualified with a decent 8.79/174. That was about it for northwest racers. HH will have some photos later today, and maybe some video. We have some great stuff including a bunch of shots of easily THE most requested car, Monte Berney's bad ass all steel '55 Chevy. In Pro Street it was Kingston Illinois' Chuck Samuel basically dominating the weekend winning Friday and Sunday, setting low ET at 6.527 in his Pro 5.0 single turbo, small block, lightweight Mustang. "We figured out our setup after the third pass here" he told HH Sunday morning. "These conditions are all new to us and it took a few runs to get our combination sorted out". West coast top gun Ed Thornton didn't have a great weekend, but didn't exactly have a bad one either. After swapping broken motors twice he ran a best of 6.581, had top speed at a blazing 223.58, but chattered the tires a couple of times in the left lane, including the Sunday final when his .103/6.76/220 was close but not quite enough for Samuel's .112/6.59/218...in what had to be the quickest and fastest west coast street car race in history.
