Doug Maclanders Good Guys Hot Rod of the Year 2005

The MacLanders brothers, Doug and Dan, have long been builders of truly fabulous hot rods, but 2005 marks a milestone for Doug as in early November 2005 his '32 Ford Sedan was recognized as one of the best in the world. After being Selected as a finalist at the 18th Pacific Northwest Nationals at the Puyallup Fairgrounds last summer, the Hemi-powered piece went on to be chosen as the Goodguys/DuPont Hot Hues 2005 Hot Rod of the Year! Doug will now travel to Scottsdale Arizona to accept this very prestigious award.

It has been a very up and down year for MacLanders as in September his well-known Buick convertible was written off in a crash just blocks from home. This was not only a severe blow to Doug, but to his many friends and car lovers of the lower mainland who had come to recognize the car at events all over the northwest.

So it is we here at HH offer both congratulations and condolences to a good friend who invited us out to photograph his award-winning rod back when the weather was nice. The brothers, both of whom have been long time supporters of HH, will most certainly carry on and we expect to see many, many more bad ass hot rods from the guys many simply refer to as 'the Twins'.
