BACK TO HH

Thanks to Louren Sansregret (who just got there in time after a trip east) for this race report:

We got to the track around 8 PM, while the first Fuel Altered was supposed to run at 7. But there had been a few oildowns, and when we got to the track, the Altereds were in the lanes waiting to run. Unfortunately, the Rat Trap didnt make it. According to the announcer, the trailer broke its axle's in South Dakota. That left the Bad Company, Impatient, and Nanook cars. So with only 3 cars, they paired one of them up with Jason Duchene's fuel Funny Car.

Ok to the races...

First pair out, James Generalao Jr in the Impatient car, up against Jason Duchene is his flopper. Generalao Jr runs a 6.70 at 196, and Duchene runs 6.14.

Next pair up, Rick Hough up against Steve Tryon. Tryon goes up on two wheels on the burnout, comes down hard, breaks the internals in the coil, and shuts it off. Rick Hough lays down a nice burnout, but has nitro methane leaking onto the track on the backup after the burnout. He pulls away, and comes back a bit later to make his run. Rick runs a 8.79 at 156.

Round 2.....

Hough goes up against Duchene this time. Hough shuts it off, an fails to improve from his previous run, and Duchene runs 6.34.

Tryon up against Generalao Jr. Both cars have shaky runs, but stay together most of the way down. The Impatient car gradually makes his way to the centerline, and a little around 1000' the Bad Company car makes a violent move toward the centerline, yet somehow manages to save it before crossing the centerline, and hitting Generalao Jr. Then right at the traps, Generalao Jr makes a wicked move toward the wall, but again an incredible save. Generalao Jr fails to improve and Tryon runs a 7.96 at 135.

The best run in the AA/FA's was Generalao Jr with his 6.70, and the best run of the night was Ed Verneka with a 5.44.
