Top Fuel

There was no bigger nitro pairing in 1978 at the Falls than when Big pulled in beside Beck.

Herman Peterson. And don't just look at the size of the flames...check the thickness of the burnout smoke. Not only the Northwest Terror, but the all-time Northwest KING of the Fire Burnout!
With apologies to the spirit of Bill Phillips, Herm did 'em on nitro baby. LOTS of nitro.

Markley's Assassin was a former NHRA speed record holder, and leads us into the all-time Mission mystery. Who held and what were the best ever numbers at the original track? I bugged the hell outta Farmer and Buczynski for YEARS and nobody could ever find out fer sure. My guess has always been 5.02 by Hank Johnson...a speed mark?...no idea.

Along with a couple more of Herm...and checking out the new telephoto lens...
