Heaven's Coverage of Mission Raceway Park
Test & Tune Saturday March 24, 2001
A new season emerged from our weeks of sunlight today
at Mission Raceway Par under 'turbo-friendly' cool, cloudy skies. Something
like 73 cars showed up for Sportsman this second test and tune weekend
of 01. The largest one day gathering of Import drag racers in this track's
history put on some kinda show beside the 'regulars'.

14.62/96.70 Color took a big leap forward at MRP today.

One of the other projects we are currently into is the
website of John Evans along
with G&M Trailers. Team
debuted Pacific Northwest Super Comp
Association webmaster Bill Evans behind the wheel today and went
as quick as 8.58 before the first tune up run of 8.99...beside Pople's
ninety...

Our man Glenn Miller took the SuperWebHost.com
former Terry Giese S/C car for it's first ride. Broke the fuel pump,
went to Chilliwack with Phil Heitanen (pictured at left) to get a new
one, got back only to miss another opportunity for another run.

Division Six Hall-of-Famer Fast Franky Nelson put first
ever lap on new 2001 Robert Neriz (Phoenix, AZ) Pro-Stock-legal Firebird.
Ran it good to about 900 ft. and shut down. On his second burnout lost
a belt...followed by all oil pressure later in the pits after no run.
Hopes it's not too serious and he and Ruth will be at Firebird
for first Top Comp show of the year.

John Rydel was in new Parker chassis (same body panels)
Panella small-block-powered Top Comp dragster. Second run resulted in
a great 7.87/170.00.
