Mission Raceway Park Saturday October 14, 2000
A bad set of Mickeys held Braid back to 7.80s.
Though you wouldn't know it here as the CPSA 2000 champ pulled a big wheelstand and Don Murray went on to an 8.10. Murray would run sevens on Sunday and Bad Bob from Oregon took his El camino to a 7.98 here this day. Look for a bigger motor in the red rocket in 2001.
Dale Pedersen ran 9.01 on Saturday, then broke into the eights Sunday with his small-tired twin turbo small-block Chevy powered Regal.
Dal Sangha's Fomoco almost did it with a best of 9.04 on street tires.
Moznik Camino had a nitrous pop.
With a new 6.71 bolted on, Roger Manson's 4-banger Tempest-powered 'jeep' finally ran nines.
And how about an 8.75 150+ for TLD!
Then there was Rob Murphy...
And believe me...
This is just a small part...
Of the wildest run of the day...
And his life! And YES, he kept it shiney side up! |
