COMP IMAGES

Winner Rick Braun and crew recieve congrats from DD Chris Blair.

Braun not only won the race, but was low qualifier and set a new C/EA record at 8.206.

Final saw Lambeck leave first with a .541 light then ran 9.125/150.88 while Braun's great .507 light and 8.261/159.53 trip down the quarter mile took the win.

Maybe the fan favorite in local Comp circles is the wheestanding C/SM 1995 Camaro of Irvine, California's Doug Lambeck.

Warter and Lambeck met in the semis with Doug going .520/9.118/147.06 to Jimmy's .579/8.883/151.46.

The Joint Venture B/SM Camaro has two wins and two semi final finishes so far in '99.

Here's the new G/Dragster NHRA National Record Holder (9.498) Brian Hyerstay from Eugene Oregon.

What's a decent Comp report from Div. 6 without a pic of Smithfield's BB/A blown gas '94 Baretta?

Ashcroft winner Jim Kennedy of San Jose, Ca. lost to Braun in the semis after qualifying the pretty F/A Pontiac into the number three position with a -0.582 8.558.

He's seen here beside popular NW driver Rob Robinson of Portland who qualified his C/EA '96 Cutlass into the two spot at -0.583 8.247.

Then won a C/EA heads-up battle with John Edwards in round one.

Edwards' gorgeous Mopar hails from Claremont Ca. He qualified 9th with an 8.817 (-0.323)

Frank Nelson ran Warter in round one. I would love to see this guy with a giant motor in Top Comp...

Mike Cherry of Hermiston Oregon was here with his 280 inch Buick powered 1981 Monza E/A.

I have included two pics of the C/ED of Des Moines Washington's Danny Anderson not just because my host for the weekend, Paul Rosen, was crewing for him here, but because he really picked up in performance at this race, making him one to watch in coming months. That's Paul crouching down in the background of the shot below.
